2007 Results: 6-4 Overall, 4-2 District
Key Losses: G John Horlock, WR Keith Barnes, T Cole Riley
Head Coach: Flip Godfrey enters his 3rd season as head coach
Coach's 2008 Outlook
Bruins Offense: Steven Cofer returns to carry the ball for the Bruins offense. The junior running back rushed for 575 yards last year on 118 carries. The Bruins will count on him to gain even more yards this upcoming season. As a group the offense will be young. These players will need to gel quickly if they want to improve on their 6 win total from last year.
Bruins Defense: The Bruins 5 man front will continue to do well with several key players returning . Miles Pritchard had 60 tackles to go along with 4 sacks. Steven Cofer (5 interceptions last season) will lead a strong secondary. Michael Vampron with 2 picks last year will also return. Coach Godfrey says the defense desperately needs some experience.
Bruins Notable Games: If the Bruins are going to win the district, every district game on the schedule must be scheduled. The Bruins had a good 4-2 division record last year, but they will need to improve on that to be champions.
Bruins Coach's Key To Victory: There isn't much depth, so an injury to a key player could be tough to overcome. If they can stay healthy, the Bruins have a chance to make it past the first round of the playoffs.
