SOUTH DELTA BULLDOGS
Class 2-A, Region 4
2007 Results: 9-4 overall, 4-1 district - lost in 3rd round to West Bolivar
Key Losses: OL/DL Bryant Stubbs, OL/DL Bryan Stubbs, TE Stallard Williams, RB Anthony Carrol
Head Coach: Derrick Hooker (entering 7th season)
Coach's 2008 Outlook:
South Delta Offense: The Bulldogs will primarily use the I-formation to run their offensive sets. Within this offense, the Bulldogs amassed more than 3,700 yards last season with 2,781 of those coming on the ground. With the running game so successful, the Bulldog quarterbacks did not have to pass much but still recorded 970 yards through the air.
South Delta Defense: A defense that allowed under 12 points per game last season should continue to be pretty stout this season with four key performers back on that side of the ball. Most of the attacking and blitzing will come out of a base 4-3 scheme.
South Delta Notable Games: The Bulldogs will surely get fired up when the game against West Bolivar approaches. West Bolivar finished last season at 15-0.
Coach's Key To Victory: Solid line play on both sides of the ball will give the Bulldogs a chance in every game they play this season.
