Coach's 2008 Outlook

Callaway Offense: There are high expectations for this group, with most of their starters returning, including junior QB Mark Thigpen. The young signal-caller is already one of the hottest prospects in the area and has shown the ability to run Coach Tillman's spread offense effectively. The other playmakers that should help Thigpen include running backs James Carson and Derrius Evans.

Callaway Defense: The front seven will be the strength of Callaway's defense. Senior defensive linemen Brian Stafford and Gerald West are the veteran leaders up front. Their play will be key to help protect a young secondary.

Callaway Notable Games: If your looking for rivalry games look no further than the meetings with Canton and Ridgeland. But Coach Tillman thinks the biggest challenge in district for the Chargers may come from Vicksburg.

Coach's Key To Victory: After starting nine freshman in 2007, this team should be over some of the growing pains of fielding a young team. Also with this being the 2nd year of Coach Tillman's tenure, the adjustment period between the players and a new boss should be over. Finally, don't ever underestimate the value of a big-time high school quarterback like Thigpen and his ability to carry a squad.
