Saints Training Camp in Jackson: Defense Day Two, Practice Two

By Kristina Pink

Welcome back to Day Two of FOX 40's Coverage of the Saints Training Camp in Jackson. Practice is about to get underway in a few minutes...

4:17 The Saints finally got a deal done with Tracy Porter. Porter is expected to be at practice this afternoon. Fans are waiting for him to take the field so they can get their first look at the second round draft pick.

4:32 Porter's finally taken the field for the Saints.

4:47 Porter did a few walk threws with the D. Now they're getting warmed up. He signed a four-year deal.  So the only thing left is for the Saints to finish up contract talks with Sedrick Ellis.

5:05 They've broken the field into sections for each defensive unit. Porter's been getting extended instruction from secondary coach Dennis Allen and the injured Mike McKenzie.

5:18 The fans sitting on the defensive side of the field have been talking about Tracy Porter all afternoon. Even though the defense isn't going full speed they're excited to get a look at him. Imagine the reaction when Ellis finally gets here!

5:30 The D's taking a bit of a breather while the kickers get some practice in.

5:41 Chris Reis just intercepted a Brunell pass right up the middle of the field. Didn't see who tipped it but Reis was able to grab it right before it hit the turf.

5:45 Lowlight of the day goes to Jason Craft. He had some pretty decent coverage on a long pass to Adrian Arrington but the man just reached right over him.

6:00 Jason David just got burnt by Lance Moore.

Day Two Practice Two is over, but Fox 40 will be back with a wrap up of today's coverage of the defense in day two of  training camp later this evening.
