ADAMS COUNTY CHRISTIAN REBELS
MPSA Class 2-A, District 3
2007 Results: 0-11 overall, 0-4 in district
Key Losses: RB Lee Guedon
Head Coach: Paul Hayles (entering 2nd season)
Coach's 2008 Outlook:
Adams County Christian Offense: Quarterback Colin Dollar was thrown in the fire last season as a sophomore starter. His hardships in 2007 should make him ready to lead this team in 2008. The Rebels will use a host of running backs in their double-wing set, but Hunter Russ should be one of the top ball-carriers. Mix those guys in with an offensive line anchored by returners T.J. Johnson and Tony Dupelchin, and this group should put up more than the 3 points per game they averaged last season.
Adams County Christian Defense: The same guys listed as leaders of the offense will be vital to the success of the defense. Coach Hayles needs his defensive lineman playing with solid technique up front and the secondary to be reliable, for them to stop teams.
Adams County Christian Notable Games: Trinity Episcopal beat Adams County Christian for the first time in 30 years last season, needless to say the Rebels are desperate for revenge on their county rival.
Coach's Key To Victory: In his first year at the helm, Coach Hayles had to deal with the loss of his top athlete, Duncan Guedon (ACL injury), early in the season. That left him with just four kids who had previously played varsity football. As the year went on, this inexperienced group improved and now has kids that aren't in the elementary phases of learning the game. That could translate into a few wins this season.
