Mississippi Blues Once Again Being Recognized

Grammy Nominations Highlight Mississippi Legends

Nominations for the 51st Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced last night in Los Angeles and Mississippi once again was well represented in the blues category.

John Lee Hooker, originally from Clarksdale has been nominated posthumously in “Best Traditional Blues” category for All Odds Against Me. Pinetop Perkins from Belzoni is nominated for his album Pinetop Perkins and Friends, and legendary BB King born in Itta Bena is nominated for his album One Kind Favor, both King and Perkins in the “Traditional Blues” category.

The Grammy's will be held Sunday February 9th in Los Angeles.
