24 hours after terrorists wreaked havoc on two of Mumbai, India's elite hotels-Taj Mahal and Oberoi-gunfire and explosions appear to be over.
Several hostages were held at gunpoint, at least 125 were killed during the attacks, including three Americans and more than 300 were injured.
"For something like this to happen is dangerous," according to Surinder Singh, President of the Indian Community in Jackson.
Singh believes politicians opposed to a peace agreement between Pakistan and India are behind the attacks. Read more about that meeting.
The unnamed attackers are reportedly outsiders who'd traveled to Mumbai by boat.
"The sad thing is the people who lost their lives. They had nothing to do with anything. They were just people enjoying themselves," he said.
The Taj Mahal is a relatively expensive hotel where many tourists, foreigners, and diplomats frequent, according to Singh.
"I think they just wanted to terrorize the foreigners who were staying there."
Nine suspects have been arrested in connection with the attacks. Authorities also found a boat loaded with explosives near the Taj's hotel.
